Top 5 Beauty ways to use Olive Oil!

1. Olive oil can be used as a hair treatment! This is one of my favourite olive oil beauty tricks, and trust me it has helped restore my hair even at its worst condition. Olive oil adds tones of moisture into your hair follicles, creating shine, reducing frizziness, breakage and split ends. Simply put Extra Virgin olive oil throughout the ends of your hair and leave in for 20 minutes or overnight if you want a stronger treatment!

2. Olive oil can exfoliate your body! Add olive oil, honey and whole lot of sugar together to make a paste, then scrub it onto your body for a moisturising exfoliate!

3. Olive oil can strengthen your nails! When rubbing olive oils onto your nails and cuticles it will help stop your nails from breaking, becoming brittle, and give them a healthy smooth look!

4. Olive oil can moisturise your skin and prevent wrinkles! Smooth some olive oil into your skin for a smooth, soft moisturiser effect. Olive oil is also perfect for softening those hard elbows and knees! Another great idea to keep your skin soft and wrinkle free is to take an olive oil bath. Simply add two cups of extra virgin olive oil into your bath water and your skin will be feeling soft for days! Sophia Loren famously takes olive oil baths and it shows through her gorgeous glowing skin!

5. Olive oil can be used as a makeup remover! The particles in olive oil are to big to sink into your pores so it won't cause any breakouts! Its great to use on your skin as it contains no harsh chemicals and is all natural!

How to Organise a Closet!

I don't have the biggest closet in the world, so I like to create extra space in my closet through interesting ideas to store my beloved items! I have quite a realistic closet, I don't find it always necessary to colour code my shoes and clothes in such a fast paced world. However It always makes me happy when everything is neatly packed away and kind of reminds me of a clothing store!

For the top part of my closet I like to keep my lighter coloured clothes on white hangers and my darker clothes on black hangers. This makes it easier for me to find pieces of clothing when i'm having a rushed morning. More importantly it looks visually appealing to the eye and keeps your light and darks organised!

I keep the shorter items of clothing towards the centre of my closet so they won't clash to much with my shoes, and allows me to see my shoe collection clearer.

I have a lot of shoes for such a small shelf, so on the top I place my heels in a diagonal position to create space for all of them to fit in. On the bottom two shelves I place my smaller heels front to back to save even more space!

I don't colour code my skirts, but I do like to hang them in according to their length. This gives me more room in the centre of my closet so it's creates a more open and less cluttered space.

In this part of my closet I keep my jackets, formal heels, accessories and makeup storage. The shelves are a great way to store smaller items that can't be hung up.

I like to store my necklaces on removable wall hangers to keep them from getting damaged and to save a bit more space. Im obsessed with this feature in my closest as it reminds me a bit of a jewellery store!

Folding your jeans and shorts as opposed to hanging them is a great way to save space for a smaller closet. You'll find a lot of smaller boutiques do this to save space in they're shop.

I also like to hang my belts to save space and to prevent them from being crushed and distorted.

I have reserved a shelf on the top to keep my clutches and smaller bags. I keep them on the top shelf because I don't need to use these bags everyday, but I still want to keep them on display in my closet, because they're just to cute to hide away!

I stack my bracelets on a paper roll to keep them organised and looking cute! At the back i have folded my scarves and keep my hair accessories and sunglasses on this shelf.

Bedroom Decoration Tips and Ideas!

On my set of drawers I love having pretty scented candles lit as it adds a luminous glow to a dark room and keeps it smelling fresh! As a centrepiece I used a portrait of one of my favourite icons, Marilyn Monroe, to set the mood for my room and to be used as a focal point for my space.

Fresh flowers from your garden or a store can brighten up any space as well as providing a fresh scent and natural feel. I love placing pink flowers in my room as it matches the decor and adds more colour to a neutrally based room!

I love my perfume collection and the bottles are just to cute not to show off! I've placed the perfume under a silver tray that I found at a thrift shop, not only does this add an extra feature to the bottles but it also keeps them looking clean and organised.

On my bedside table I like to keep a soft scented candle and soft flowers to keep this space of my room nice and calm. I have place a photo of my younger self in an even frame, the photo colours match my rooms colour palette so it won't be confusing against the eye.

I like to have a well lit lamp next to my bed so it's easy for me to read at night. I got this lamp from target and i'm obsessed with the cut out floral design on the lamp shade, especially since it matches my bed spread! I got my bedspread from PB teen and I decided to go for a neutral colour so I could have multiple colours in my pillows. Personally I love lots of pillow on my bed as It makes my room feel very luxurious and girly. It also adds an interesting feature to my space.

On the floor I like to keep a fluffy rug next to my bed as it adds more texture and dimension to a small space. I chose a dark neutral colour so it will be easy to maintain and won't be a distraction from the rest of the room.

I like to make my desk look fun, cute and overall more enjoyable to look at when i'm working or studying. It's a good idea to have a nice clean space when using your desk as it can help you stay focused for longer and not be as distracted from your set task.

On my top shelf I like to add statement pieces and accessories that reflect my style and that will add a pop of colour to the neutral desk. I've added vintage crystal perfume jars across the top shelf to give a glamourous 'shabby chic' feel.

On this side of the top shelf I have gone with a shell theme. I have decorated a glass jar, box and bra with shells that I collected a few summers ago. I think it creates a bit of a quirky look as well as a calming feature to my room. I mixed this theme up with candles and crystal perfume bottles.

Placing flowers in bowls of water can create an interesting and unique centrepiece, it also helps visually balance out the desk.

I have balanced out my book shelf with matching the height on both sides and having a tall centre piece in the middle. I like placing my books in different directions to add some interest to this space. I like to store my electronics and personal items in cute patterned boxes to add another feature to my room.

On my little table I like to place my favourite items and accessories so they can be shown and used more frequently. I have placed the table on the diagonal to make my room not look so boxy. I have also added objects of different heights to create interest for this space.

The Power of Drawing

Drawing is a powerful tool. Not only can you create beautiful images that have life within the brush strokes, but you can also portray your thoughts and explore your mind through your own unique concept of illustration.

We can communicate to each other through drawing as well as reducing our stresses; it will also give us a sense of achievement. Drawing can keep our minds focused on the present and helps prevent us from ruminating in the past or the distant future. It is one of the most mighty mindfulness practices we can use.

Drawing can reduce anxiety and help develop our interpersonal and problem solving skills. It has a strong psychological impact on ourselves and get be used as a treatment therapy to potentially help mental disorders and give us a better understanding of our inner psyche.

I personally find it an outlet where I can express my emotions and feelings that I feel at the time when drawing.  Each individual can look at a picture and find they’re own unique meaning within the drawing. We interpret things differently to one another and this allows our individuality shine through. Releasing an intense emotion through a simple pencil let’s our sensations free and provides a release of our feelings each time we draw.

You don’t always need fancy equipment to create an effective drawing as long as you let your imagination flow and your emotions run free on the page, you can create a very powerful image.
